Ashford Ladies Book Semi Final Spot

Ashford Town (Middlesex) Ladies made easy work of League Two side Greenhouse Sports to secure a semi-final spot in the Capital Womens Junior Cup.

Ashford Ladies got themselves off to a very confident start, moving the ball about with confidence and opened the scoring after five minutes when Lavana Neufville played in her strike partner Ashley Cheatley who finished neatly through the goalkeeper legs – a brilliant goal to cap off a fantastic team move.

Ashford maintained their dominance in possession and ten minutes later, Irisha Smith made it 2-0 with a tidy finish into the bottom corner.

Greenhouse Sports barely gave United an anxious moment throughout the game – and victory was wrapped up when Neufville struck just after the hour mark.

Ashford Ladies progress to the semi-finals (which is a home time) to face the winners of Clapham United or Putney Vale on 20th March 2016.

The support from spectators was fantastic this weekend – we hope for more of the same in the next fixture.
