Ashford Ladies Maintain 100 Percent Record

Ashford made it a double victory over title chasers Putney Vale at the Richardson Evans Memorial Playing Fields.

The early kick off did not phase the away side at all who took the lead when the in-form Ashley Cheatley opened the scoring after other opportunities from Ashford were missed.

Putney Vale defended well in spells with timely tackles and interceptions.

Lavana Neufville saw a superb effort from long range hit the cross bar and go out of play. The resulting goal kick was latched onto by captain Vicky James who played a perfect through pass for Cheatley to grab her second.

This took Cheatley’s goal scoring tally to 45 goals for the season.

Just before the half time break Putney gave themselves a life line with a long range shot beating Lauren Restel to find the top corner.

Ashford came out the side more hungry to impress and did just that when Neufville raced clear of two defender and slotted the ball underneath the goalkeeper.

Neufville grabbed another at the very death as Ashford won 4-1.

This victory sees Ashford maintain their 100 per cent win record in all competitions.

Next week the ladies are back at home to face Club Langley, it’s the first time the two sided are meeting this season.
