Ashford Ladies Maintain Their Winning Start

Ashley Cheatley’s superb goal scoring run continued as Ashford Town (Middlesex) Ladies thrashed Old Actonians Thirds to maintain their 100 per cent winning record this season and extend their lead at the top of the Greater London Women’s Football League, Division 3 South.

On fire Cheatley, opened proceedings in the first three minutes of the game, after going on a solo run from the edge of the box, taking on three defenders and poking the ball underneath the goalkeeper.

The pace of the front three continued to be a threat to Old Actonians and shortly after Irisha Smith grabbed a goal to boost her tally to six for the season.

Player of the match Lavana Neufville, had an outstanding game scoring five goals including a lob from 25 yards out, which was the pick of her goals.

Captain Vicky James scored a well worked goal including one at the end of the game which was a fantastic free kick from the edge of the box.

Claire Samuels rounded off a superb midfield performance by grabbing her first hatrick in Ashford colours whiles on-fire Cheatley took her overall goals tally to 32 goals in 5 appearances.

Next week will be a challenge for the ladies as they travel away to face Hammersmith Starz, the only other team in the division to have won all of their fixtures this season.
