Ashford progress to cup semis

Ashford Ladies fired their way into the semi-finals of the Sue Sharples Memorial Trophy by beating Regents Park 8-0.

Spectators at The Robert Parker Stadium had to be patient as the home side hit the woodwork three times very early on.

Ashford continued to create chances and the breakthrough came as Charmaine Benham played through Ashley Cheatley who confidently placed it passed the goalkeeper.

Tia Prior soon notched her first in as many games by finishing from close range before Neufivlle finally found the back of the net.

The sides headed in with Ashford 3-0 up.

The Tangerines kicked off the second half and came out firing with a quick flurry of goals in the space of ten minutes from Benham, James and Cheatley.

Before the full time whistle Neufvlle grabbed her second as well as James to cap a great team performance.

Ashford Ladies have been drawn away to London Bari at Hackney Marshes in the semi-finals.

As many spectators have pointed out, the treble is still on for the Ladies side in their first season together as a squad. This is testamant to the hard work they put in week after week.
