RESULT: Old Actonians 1 Ashford Town (Middlesex) Ladies 11

Ashford Town (Middlesex) Ladies won their first game of the season running out 11-1 winners in their first league game at the Riverside Boathouse in Chiswick.

With players still away, the new look Ashford side had players drafted in for their debuts for the club such as Rebecca Thurlow and Judith Densu.

The Ladies got off to a great start in the first minute of the game when they won a corner whipped in by the skipper Vicky James and powerfully headed in by Lucy Easton.

Ashley Cheatley grabbed her first of the game when she raced through and found the bottom corner of the goal.

Cheatley raced through again ten minutes later, rounding the goalkeeper, only to be brought down and awarded a penalty. James stepped up and decisively scored from the spot.

The remainder of the first half followed in similar finish with Cheatley getting her tally up to 6 for the game, James grabbing another and Lavana Neufville scoring also.

The Ladies went in at half time 10-0 up.

The second half was a different game however and Old Acotnians showed more fight belief in this half.

Cheatley grabbed her seventh goal of the game just before Lisa Penteado grabbed a cancellation goal for the home side.

A great result for the ladies beginning their campaign in the GLWFL Div 3 South and a sign of intent for the fixtures to come.

Player of the Match – Ashley Cheatley
